About Me

Welcome! I'm Krista Mello, the face behind Sweet Mello Treats. I live in Fairfield, Connecticut, momming to two boys by day, and baking by night! I started baking with my mom when I was young, making Christmas cookies each year to give out as gifts during the holiday season. My passion grew exponentially, and by the time I graduated from Boston College in 2008, our annual Christmas cookie tradition had become an epic event, making over a thousand cookies in one weekend! While working in the finance world, I dreamed of starting my own baking business and continued to bake in my free time.

When my first son was born, I left my job in banking and took on a new challenge - becoming a stay at home mom! I kicked my baking up a notch, doing lots of recipe testing and watching YouTube videos to learn new techniques. I started making crazy birthday cakes and decorated cookies for my kids - every year they give me a new challenge! Friends and family became my first customers, and Sweet Mello Treats LLC was born in early 2020.

I'm so fortunate to have come from a long line of amazing home bakers who have passed on our cherished family recipes - I can't wait to share them with you! My goal is always to provide sweet treats that taste as good as they look, made with high quality ingredients and a lot of love. I look forward to making your next event even sweeter!
